KART Paratransit Service

KART’s Paratransit (origin to destination) service is aligned with the minimum service requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). Contact a KART Transit Assistant for more information regarding the Paratransit program by calling 559-852-2717.

About Paratransit

KART Paratransit is a form of public transportation. KART offers a shared ride service for persons who, because of their disability, are unable to use the regular fixed route bus. Paratransit service is available to all ADA Paratransit qualified individuals to any location within 3⁄4 of a mile of a fixed route bus stop operated by KART.

Eligibility

Disability alone does not create eligibility; the decision is based on the applicant’s functional ability to use the bus and is not a medical decision. At the same time, the availability of fixed-route service does not constitute eligibility.

Reservations

You can make a Paratransit reservation by calling the Reservation Center at 559-584-0101 from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. All reservations must be made in advance; same day trips are not allowed, you can make your reservation as early as seven (7) days in advance.
